Panamanian Lovers of Paraguayan Literature

The Panamanian Lovers of Paraguayan Literature (PLPL) subsection of the Latin American Letters Lovers (LALL) MLA discussion group will host its annual meeting this evening from 7:00 - 2:00 in the Liberty Room of the Philly Hilton. This year's topic is the potential dissolution/synthesis/aporia/apotheosis of our group: the works of Panamanian-Paraguayan journalist and fiction writer Stephanie Moscoso Roa, followed by the midnight screening of her documentary, P-Text. Mate mojitos may be served. MLA interview gossip will be tolerated. Minutes will not be taken. Attendance: MANDATORY!

Minipastorela

Traditional in the Spanish-speaking world, especially Mexico, a pastorela is a Christmas pageant that focuses on the obstacles the shepherds must overcome on their journey to Bethlehem. Mexico City hosts an annual festival of pastorelas, the FESTHIP. This miniature (twitter?) script is inspired by the current craze for six-word summaries. 

Pastor 1 (Bartolo): Resisto reconocer la festejada inevitabilidad religiosa.
Pastora 1 (Gila): ¿Quién te crees? Todos somos relativistas.
